Observation 238289: Inocybe sensu lato (Site ID) (Inocybaceae)

A single fb that has seen better days. It probably popped up before the big rain we had two days ago. Likely one of the first mycorrhizal fungi to appear in the spring in the Pine Barrens. It was growing in sand under a wooden guardrail and was somewhat protected from the exposure to the elements. The gill edges appeared darker than the gill surface. There was a funky and unpleasant (mealy, spermatic?) odor. The spore print I got was very faint, but it was clearly brown. A quick look in the scope at 400 revealed smooth, almond-shaped spores with an olive-green cast (no solvent or cover slip). Spore measurements and pix will be posted later
