but probably more will follow. I think microscopy is your best bet. That and the location on Whitbey Island will be deciding factors.

While the pinkish bruising of these specimens may be somewhat unique, I wouldn’t even know where to start trying to nail down a species ID. Even so I intend to do microscopy on them and will continue to save any specimens that I find with hope that they may be of interest to someone, someday.

confirmed. Which species is up in the air. The basal rhizomorph present on many specimens, plus the light-colored peridium make species identification (for me at least) quite difficult.
