Fresh boletes always put a smile on my face, too, even the bitter ones. :-) Same here — not enough rain at a crucial time or a prolonged dry spell can spell disaster for an emerging season. We’ve had many disappointments here in the Eastern USA caused by scorchers in the last 10 years…

They are always impressive when fresh. Bit lucky as we have been in drought for over 8 months in my district. Rain has been recorded almost everywhere else. We have for some reason missed out. It has disrupted finds.
