Found near white pines on the south side of a limestone ridge, in forest duff. Some eastern red cedar in the area also.

Neither one had that type of veil

I found two, one a bit younger. Veil of both was very thin and
membranous, about halfway up the stalk, stained very slightly light brownish.

Dried them & will send to you today. I found them together, but made up one
data sheet & bagged them separately.

Something pantherinoid in sect. Amanita.

Unfortunately the best field clue is not there…a funnel-shaped partial veil. Maybe it’s absent due to the ages of the mushrooms.
