Yeah I saw that, but I had it down as C. pistilaris from Arora, and some observations in the past. I meant to look it up later, and see what that was about. Right, here in CA, C. occidentalis it is.

As I understand it C. pistillaris is not considered to occur in California and instead we have C. occidentalis. MykoWeb has brief discussion of why, but the primary issues are coloration and spore size.
