Found one group, on a rotten hardwood log by Rapidan Camp Trail.

Flesh and gills tough for a Mycena. No obvious odor (didn’t crush or taste them).

Basidia ~20+4 x 4, four- and two-spored. Spores 7×3, or (mostly) smaller. Cheilocystidia densely packed on the gill edge, hard to separate, 20-30 × 5-9. Pleurocystidia not immediately observed. Pileipellis hirsute, most cells smooth, but divierticulate ones was easy to find too.

Pileipellis at 10x and no pressure on cover slip.
A 2-spored basidium.
