No specimen available

KOH negative on cap and pore surface. Highly hydrophobic cap surface. No distinct smell. Growing in almost entirely conifer forest, which doesn’t quite match to P. varius’s preferred growing medium of conifer, so open to other suggestions.

Thank you Danny. The solution is pure household grade ammonia Rocky. I was quite surprised with how intensely it repelled the ammonia as well.
