Agrocybe seems like it could be a fit. I wish I would have kept one for the scope. I will try to find them again next year at the spot and scope them.

mention a scaly stipe surface.

Gill color here does not remind me of K. marginellus. But lined cap margins seem to match Kuehneromyces better than Agrocybe.

Late spring features a palette of Agrocybe species here in eastern North America.

In my own observations, spring Agrocybe types seem to have larger, more consistently truncate spores.
