No, I didn’t see a sac.

It’s possible that I lost any sac in the soil while digging it up. About half of the stem was below the soil surface.

I also thought it was sect. Vaginatae until I saw the ring, which reminds me of my observation 222502—interesting discussion there.

At first I didn’t see the ring in the bottom photo and it made me think sect. Vaginatae, since there was no sac. But having seen the ring, it made me wonder if you had seen a sac before you dug it out.
