They are surely in great shape to be of last year’s vintage, but these fungal hygrometers are as tough as polypores and can last for a long time. By the way, I saw a picture of your collection from a few years back (obs 56297) on the Wiki page for this species… My question was a rhetorical one, a joke… I always appreciate your honest, insightful answers.

if these are from this year or last.

I have found this species quite intact and still reacting to atmospheric changes in mid April. So I surmise the fruit bodies may persist over-winter. My guess is the ones in this observation are last year’s.
