Mostly based on the “white mycelial down” at the base of the stipe. Arora mentions a gray-brown form (asema) that occurs on the west coast of the US associated with pine, might possibly be in the Rocky’s of Alberta? No mention of where found or nearby trees, but the duff in the photos certainly shows a lot of pine needles.
