Observation 25555: Cortinarius alboviolaceus (Pers.) Fr.
When: 2009-09-21
Collection location: Forest near Elgin St., Pembroke, Ontario, Canada [Click for map]
Who: Paul Derbyshire (Twizzler)
No specimen available
Notes:
Terrestrial in Zone 33. There were several in one cluster that I saw. These were actually my last finds of the day, as the light was fading and rain was moving in, hence the darkness of the gill shot (for that closeup the camera body itself obstructed much of the remaining light). The enhanced version shows the purple of the gill edges well.
