Amanita chlorinosma does not have a pronounced bulb as this species does. Also, it doesn’t have distinct warts (except perhaps in the very center of the cap) because its volva is intensely floccose and lacking in hyphae that would hold the wart structure together.

There is a reasonable chance that this species is unnamed. It would be nice to be able to designate it Amanita [sect. Lepidella] sp. or something like that…I keep forgetting to ask Nathan about allowing a format such as that.

Another thought. There might be more than one species in the picture.
