Many of these were growing in wood chips at the base of a crabapple tree: some were clustered, some single.
Features: light tan cap, 1-4" in diameter, sometimes irregular. Stipe ~ attached, up to 1cm thick, up to 4" long, sometimes curved, sometimes club shaped, usually with ring or veil remnants attached to cap margin, often with prominent mycelial “roots”. Gills – fairly close, light brown, adnexed, often distally forked. Spore print – chocolate brown
