Observation 26052: Leccinellum crocipodium (Letell.) Bresinsky & Manfr. Binder

When: 2009-09-20

Collection location: Big Thicket, Polk Co., Texas, USA [Click for map]

Who: Ron Pastorino (Ronpast)

No specimen available

Notes:
Now I wish I had saved these. I couldn’t get a quick spore print on them so I’m just making a guess on the ID. The caps are firm, with light yellow flesh, and fairly rugose. The caps did have a violet tint to them which is more evident in the flash photo although that feature didn’t seem to be noted in any of the descriptions that I could find. There was some light yellow at the base, which is noted.
