the yellow on the veil is not typical for A. amerirubescens. Probably due to age of fruit body and/or atmospheric conditions. But A. flavorubens shows more overall yellow color.

Yeah, tell me about it… that east coast west coast mushroom thang…

darn it, I guess that wishful thinking won’t get me a life-anita…

since as a Westerner I have never before seen flavorubens, and Rod has seen plenty of both species, I will bow to his superior judgement and sadly downgrade this ID to an amerirubescens with a (apparently not unusual) yellow veil. Sigh.
