Yeah, when I created the observation I was told the name H. americanum was deprecated, and H. corraloides was the only other option given, I guess I should have just ignored it.

…is this name deprecated, but with no preferred synonym? That’s even goofier than when someone votes against a name on an observation but doesn’t suggest or vote for something they think it is instead.

I agree, the spines don’t have little teeth like H. coralloides.
