Observation 26209: Lactarius Pers.

When: 2003-01-01

Collection location: Istanbul, Turkey [Click for map]

Who: Adnan Sınar (mushroomaniac)

No specimen available

A milky latex exuded from the gills, so I thought it might have been a species of Lactarius. It looked very much like L. delicious or L.deterrimus but no green stains appeared when bruised. The latex turned from white to greenish yellow. The gills were pinkish white, then they turned to brown. Found in a forest where mainly firs existed.
