Who: banders (banders)
Abundant under Adenostema fasciculatum (chamise) in dense chaparral. No trees anywhere nearby. Very candy cap -like in some ways: often growing right at base of chamise trunk, bleeding whitish almost clear milky latex, very mild sweet aroma. Caps did not seem to be nubbly and were generally lighter colored and smaller than oak -associated species, but could have been environmentally induced.
