Observation 26647: Caloboletus marshii D. Arora, C.F. Schwarz & J.L. Frank

Notes:
Fruiting just before and just after this last big storm. In one case with oak (Quercus wislizenii), and in one case with madrone (second photo).

Spores avg 11.5 × 4.8 microns, quite uniform. Not as strongly curved as some Boletus spores.

Somewhat radicating / bulbous yellow mycelial mass bound tightly to tree roots in both collections.
