This website is so helpful and the people on here have helped me learn a lot. I think the caps were slightly viscid.

H. minutulus has a viscid to glutinous cap. H. miniata has a dry to moist cap.

How can G. Minutulus and h. Miniata be separated?

I can’t find anything useful in my field guides about G. Minutulus, and I want I had thought about gliophorus and noticed none of the caps were depressed in the center. These were with bay laurel in a damp, dark area (slope above a creek). No conifers around.
