The gills on this one were much less obviously free than I’m used to seeing on Pluteus – even in hand, there was no angle where I could see an actual gap between the stem and the gills.
Is that feature correlated at all with this section (or species group)?

I suspected it was a bluer but I couldn’t catch any green/blue tints irl.
Observing how the gills are free can be more difficult in the small Celluloderma species, or in young specimens. Cutting the basidiocarp in half and/or using a lens can be helpful to verify. But gills are always free in Pluteus
