Observation 268506: Discomycetes Sacc.

A beautiful ascomycete that I found on multiple occasions around the Chalalan Ecolodge.

Region Collected – Southwest Amazon Moist Forests

Growth habit: grouped
Age of specimens: mixed
Substrate: On a fallen log
Height of entire specimen 0.3cm
Width of cap: 0.3cm
Height of caps (at center): 0.3cm
Odor: pleasant
Taste: tastes like chalk
Cap surface: smooth. minute pores are visible on the surface of the cap with a dissecting microscope (don’t know what magnification I used).
Cap Flesh: very soft
Surface Texture: Dry
Surface Ornamentation: smooth
Note: Underside of cup appears pubescent with a 10x hand lens
Margin Shape: straight
Contours of margin: even
Flesh consistency: spongey
