Growing in leaf and needle litter along a trail near Pinus strobus (planted), Pinus subgenus Pinus (planted), Eleagnus umbellata, Acer saccharinum, Cornus sp. and Lonicera sp. I may have overlooked other small hardwoods. Caps slightly glabrous and hygrophanous. The caramel brown margin shown in the in situ photo faded to the pale, slightly yellowish brown of the cap centers in the in situ photo. Fresh gills rusty brown. Stem base slightly bulbous and with bright rusty orange basal mycelium. Stem surface with widely-spaced brownish fibers. Mid-portion of stem brown. Stem apex whitish. Did not notice cortina in fresh specimens. Spore print rusty brown. Did not note odor but I may have overlooked it.
