in Oz. I posted comment on your Obs. Yes, texture of marshmallow, especially with age and soon after collecting even though the specimens are quite firm when collected. 3 spp for this genus from Oz reported by Watling – F. mollis, F. prunicolor, and F. rodwayi.

Hey Roy,
I am curious about the texture of marshmallow. David, Ian and I found another bolete with exactly that texture last year, but it certainly wasn’t this one! Is that unusual texture typical for Fistulinella, or is this just mere coincidence?
