Do you have Tom Carlberg’s Key to Genus for the Macrolichens of Central Coastal California? If not I can shoot it over to you. It will vastly help getting these things to genus without using a compound scope. It uses some chemistry tests, but you can get around them if you don’t have KOH (but you should get some, at hardware store!)
