These color of the cap surfaces…

seemed a little darker than what I have generally seem with P. populinus. I didn’t examine these very closely, but I did look at the print/spores for a collection of very similar Oysters; print was white and spores were significantly larger than what’s reported for ostreatus.

Growth on true poplar also supports populinus.
