Observation 276291: Daldinia Ces. & De Not.

Collected at the 6th annual Kelley Point Mycoblitz on April 30th, 2017.

The habitat is low elevation, bordered by the Columbia and Willamette rivers. The area is dominated by black cottonwood/Populus trichocarpa.

Identifiers present were Leah Bendlin, Dick Bishop, Sallie Tucker Jones and Josh Grefe.

The collection slip below that lists dung as a substrate was a mixup with another species.

No, it was on wood. I noted the wrong collection slip note in the original observer notes and photo caption. It was windy and some of the slips got blown around. This was growing on wood. No cross section unfortunately.

highly doubt this was on dung, if it is, in fact, Daldinia. no cross section?
