Notes:
Half dozen within about 25 meters of each other. In Doug fir/red alder/madrone forest. Ringless with tight volva on bulbous base. Stem even, gills free or eaten away by small slugs. Striate margin, brownish cap with patches. convex to flat to slightly concave with age. One reference said this is an autumnal mushroom. We have had nearly a solid month of rain here with cold temps, but four days ago there were three sunny days in the 70s, now back to the fifties and more rain and overcast.
