Observation 2766: Inocybe sensu lato (Site ID) (Inocybaceae)
When: 2007-03-07
Collection location: Howarth Park, Santa Rosa, Sonoma Co., California, USA [Click for map]
Who: Debbie Drechsler (debdrex)
No specimen available
Notes:
This would be my first Inocybe so I’m not sure, and my photos were criminally bad. Even though the pileus was dry feeling it looked satiny. It appears to be fibrillose. The stipe is also shiny looking. The whole thing seems to have been deformed as it emerged, so the stipe curves up under the cap. Gills are white and fairly thin, but widely spaced. The cap was cracked, at the margin, out of sight of the camera.
