Observation 276932: Agrocybe Fayod

When: 2017-05-12

Collection location: Belchertown, Hampshire Co., Massachusetts, USA [Click for map]

Who: Jess Evans (JBE16)

No specimen available

Pileus convex, opaque. Gills adnate, distant, with very faint remnants of cortina. Spore print gray/brown. Substrate soil, in deciduous (oak and beech) woods.
Spores ovate/elliptical, measuring 8-9 × 4-5 micrometers, with an apical pore.
Cheilocystidial shape seems to rule out Hebeloma and Hypholoma, but I’m not convinced this is Agrocybe either.
