If you’ve got Meltzer’s…

and a spore print, you may immediately eliminate one of guessowii/Lepidella. Easier said than done… getting the Meltzer’s. If you can convince a medical doctor to prescribe Meltzer’s and then convince a compounding pharmacy to mix it, then this is a completely legitimate pathway to obtaining this really useful reagent. Sometimes a mushroom club is a source.

has taken the form of raised warts on the stipe base. This is a Lepidella sorta thing. But the cap color, the marginal striations, and the truncate short gills all point toward subgenus Amanita.
