To think I stayed up most of the evening trying to research this obscure little species. Never found that resource.

So yes, it doesn’t look anything like that. Oddly the CNALH description doesn’t match that resource’s photos either!

So it looks much like Tremella ramalinae.

CNALH: “surface: similar to that of the host, but frequently more intensively pigmented, either darker or more orange-brown; fertile”

The other recorded lichenocolous fungi from the islands don’t cause such notable symptoms, based on the same source’s descriptions.
