Pair of mushrooms growing against exposed roots of hardwood in predominantly deciduous woods.
Caps, ca 1.0-to-1.5 inches diameter; brown; convex, flat-to-depressed in center.
Gills. Cream; close; attached; milk released when damaged, white paper stained brown.
Stipe. White; ca 0,5 inch diameter; ca. 2.5-to-3.0 inches long; creamish-tan, white near base. Bruised brown when cut.
Spore print. Not successful, but some indication of brown.
Microscopy. Pleuromacrocystidia characteristic of L. volemus
