someone saw a neat lichen in the background of a mushroom photo, cropped it out, found that it was blurry, but figured “what the hey?” and posted it anyway. :)
In my defense, I didn’t take this photo. It is pretty blurry!
it’s pure gestalt! But if you squint just right you can see the pom-pom-like soralia of Parmotrema reticulatum or something similar in the blurry background. That rules out Flavoparmelia and all other Parmeliaceae genera in your area.
How do you distinguish this from Flavoparmelia (or any of the Parmeliaceae for that matter).
