with expanded cap would provide a better idea. Also, spore prints for Hymenopellis types are starkly white (in my experience). Rhodocollybia tend to have off-white (sometimes yellowish or pinkish) prints.

I do see a lot of those — and this thing fooled me with its form, but digging up that “root” should have set me to thinking “Xerula”.
