Another mysterious southern red pored bolete. Ammonia applied in several photos. Neoboletus was suggested. Growing under live oak.

The Texas hill country

Most of my finds are in the hill country, others closer to San Antonio and surrounding counties. I’m constantly surprised with what I find.

would have suspected the Hill Country to have such remarkable fungal biodiversity. I’ve got family in that area (around Kerrville). Might have to make a trip.
