Habitat: under pine with maple nearby.

Cap: Greyish fading to tan around the edges, veil material in the center.

Stem: White with tan hues, floccose? with a very defined volva.

The volva appears to tear into 4-6 sections.

I collected both the mushrooms pictured and have them drying now, thanks Rod.

This is a very interesting species. I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen it before.
