So as it happens my nearest day off this year to the day I found this sample (June 2) was June 6, but the day before I threw out my back. I probably couldn’t reach the area of this sample since it’s steeply uphill and one rough terrain due to how stiff I was and that’s not even considered I had to rest to ensure it healed properly.

I hope next year I don’t have that sort of luck. Funny since this is the first time that’s happened in my life too and it had to coincide with a once-a-year event of hopefully finding a sample of this.

Wow!

I would LOVE to send this away for study as that is my ultimate purpose in doing fungus finding, but no I didn’t preserve this one. I don’t preserve what I find unless I’m sure it’s of use which would only happen if I found it prior and then was told here to save it. In which case I’ll be sure to go there around the same time and to visit the location I found it hopefully to find another.

Thank you for giving me motivation regardless of whether I find it again or not.

Did you preserve this one?

Jean Lodge would be interested in examining this for a study on Chromosera.

Thanks!

This one isn’t listed in my guide jimmiev. I’m quite surprised.

After doing a web search it seems this one is unstudied (having very little information) and seems to be quite rare yet recorded from many different areas!
