White specimens of Pluteus are notoriously difficult to ID; there are some taxa that are predominantly white but also usually colored species can produce white basidiomes sometimes

Pluteus pellitus is a a European species, we do not have that one in Eastern NA

It this was growing in Betula or Alnus wood it probably is Pluteus leucoborealis; another species that commonly has white or pale basidiomes is Pluteus hongoi
