Observation 279204: Ganoderma tsugae Murrill

When: 2017-06-17

Collection location: Saugerties, Ulster Co., New York, USA [Click for map]

Who: cmy610

No specimen available

Notes:
I think these are Ganoderma tsugae? I saw tons of it growing on dead fallen trees and snags. In one of the pictures, you can see one of the mushrooms was covered in some kind of dust. Mushrooms ranged in size from 3-10 inches wide. They were growing in a wet, deciduous forest along the Hudson River.

I believe the brown dust in one of your photos are spores that have settled on this mushroom from another that may have been above it.
