Thanks, Pulk & heelsplitter!

I read the paper suggested by heelsplitter and renamed this MO observation to Megacollybia fallax. I greatly appreciate your suggestions, especially if you make them as Comments and not by crossing out our MO original names.

However, MO is not a Ludo Game and you should stay away from the other users’ tokens.

All or almost all of those records are misidentified

One does not identify a Megacollybia as M. platyphylla by sight in NA. I’ll find a paper when I get back to my laptop…

Paul Kroeger had the specimen and identified it looking at the collection

He did not know that it is an exclusively European species.
For your information, I added the map of Megacollybia platyphylla that I got from MyCoPortal.

How did you arrive at M. platyphylla?

This is supposed to be a European species.

The new fields that were added to the MO observation page

Do not use them, since they do not work, et least not for our (Oluna’s & Adolf’s collections). Oluna does not use coll. numbers, except when she has two collections of the same species from the same site and the same date.
In those Oluna’s collections that are posted on MO, I periodically request the new UBC accession numbers and add them to our observations into the Notes: If you feel that I should include your coll. numbers to the observations like this one, send them to me and I will add them to the Notes as well. In the Notes I store all the “proprietary” information that I have to protect from other MO users. The coll. numbers belong into that category.
