On bark of a large old red willow (Salix laevigata).

Thallus scant, greenish, verrucose. Apothecia lecanorine, with a narrow pruinose rim becoming reduced but persistent. Disks dark maroon-brown, lightly pruinose, rough, plane to somewhat convex. Hymenium and hypothecium hyaline, epihymenium brown, with surface granules, all POL-, K+ purplish. Paraphyses conglutinated, with a pigmented swollen apical cell.

Asci clavate, 8-spored. Spores hyaline, narrowly ellipsoid, fusiform, (1)-3 septate, slightly constricted at septa, generally curved (bean shaped). Average 14.6×4.7µm (n=7).
