Observation 28197: Hericium erinaceus (Bull.) Pers.

When: 2009-11-13

Collection location: Georgia, USA [Click for map]

Who: AmatoxinApocalypse (AmatoxinApocalypse)

Specimen available

mycOhunter collection.

My hunting partner mycOhunter has been finding some wonderful lions manes recently. This one was just starting to show the classic lions mane look, but was not left to mature because of deer in the area that have been eating them all.

This one was rather large, a great find and very delicious.
