I believe this fits macro traits associated with “series Penetratrices”.
Thick/hard umbo on the disc, deeply rooting stipe, persistent membranous volva, relatively large fruit body.
Oak dominated woods, maybe 15-20 feet away from obs 281997, but this one looks a little different from 281997. Globose to subglobose spores are smaller than 281997, ~7-10 × 7-9.
