I did not collect it in the field. It was mixed in with the other specimens at the end of a SOMA foray. As we eat the pot luck lunch everyone shares the fungi they found and we try to identify them.
Was that just laying about above ground, or did you dig it up?
The hyphae are black and the mycelial mat at the base of the cups looks similar to a piece of fabric.
