Another thing that throws me off is that it was growing solitarily, and I’ve read that it is mostly gregarious. I have the specimen so when I have access to a microscope I’ll compare traits.

I would be utterly shocked if these weren’t a Psilocybe but who knows

Attempts to bruise the stipe and cap did not elicit any blue staining, which makes me think this is not Psilocybe. Alan, I have a dried specimen if you are interested.
