I suppose the problem will eventually be corrected. I was just a bit concerned that something was amiss on my end.

Someone screwed up

and changed the author on Cortinarius to that. I created a version with the genus’s correct author for people to use. The problem is about 350 old observations seem to now have the subgenus crud on them. It would take hours to manually fix them all. Nathan or Jason could probably do it with a quick search and replace of some sort though, or by merging the two names and keeping the correct author.

I wonder why I was unable to successfully post “Cortinarius sp.” without the sub genus being added?

“sub genus Sericeocybe” was added

automatically when I made the post. My guess is merely that these mushrooms are Corts.
