Found by, and collected with, Darin Wiseman. Growing buried in needle and cone litter at the base of a large, planted Picea abies. Abundant. Odor not distinctive. Taste like unsalted cashews. Peridium smooth. Not growing attached to rhizomorphs. No reaction to Lugol’s iodine on cut interior. Asci mostly 3 spored. Spores reticulate and ellispoid. Spore measurements from Darin Wiseman:
