Under lodgepole pine in a cluster
Pinkish-brown caps. The pictures did not capture the pinkish/purple hue well but it was definitely there.
Instant sensitive deep blue bruising (see photos) on the pores and stipe. After hours of exposure faded to light brown and not easily visible, while pores remained yellow.
Flesh more of a whitish-yellow but also turned blue upon contact
Tubes concolorous with pores and up to 2.5 cm.
Reddish stipe base. Unscented.
Surface slightly bumpy, in particular on the larger one, so I was wondering about abieticola, but after further reading, apparently the slight lumpiness on primiregius is okay. Abieticola would have obvious, more well defined scales than these ever did, especially over time. Abieticola is furthermore unlikely to show the extent of the pink hues. The lumpiness was not present on all the boletes in the cluster.
